Still Waiting - A Memoir

'Still Waiting,' author, Janetra Johnson preserved her personal account of the U.S. National Guards financial policies and performance illusions between 1996 and 2014. In the book, the author takes you inside the California military department, during the time of its largest financial calamity.  In the book, she captured the 1940's and 50s theme inside the California National Guard with a story about the removal of its Jim Crow era barracks, discriminatory evaluation policy, outdated accounting practices and a challenge to its 1950's legal doctrine. The author filed her federal lawsuit in 2009 and was one of the first persons on the scene of the calamity to preserve the California National Guards performance evaluation policy, in the case: Johnson v. Departments of the Army and Air Force et al. The author wrote this book in the first person and gives an emotional account of how the language in the California National Guards evaluation policy provoked anger and conjured up those dreadful thoughts of slavery and the Jim Crow era.
